Get ready for the Bermuda Charge!
About 200 riders – in cars, bikes and trucks – are expected to descend on Clearwater for the second Scooter Mart Bermuda Charge next month.
Organiser David Cahill said: “This event started last year, as a celebration of Bermuda’s motoring culture. We wanted to bring our motoring community together, provide a platform to celebrate, and enjoy all aspects of motoring from hot combustion to cool electric.
“Bermuda has a big future with EVs and they are starting to get more attention as a smart alternative.”
“We’re expecting more entries this year, but we’re capping it at 200 so that it can remain well managed. We will be celebrating with a loop ride-out, that starts and finishes at Clearwater Beach,” added David.
“There will be a free Auto Show for visitors with more than 20 automotive vendors showing up to display, there will be motorcycle test rides, food vendors (J&B’s Wood Fired Pizza, Ashley’s
Lemonade, Jamaican Grill), live music, Gombeys, fun castles, water slides, snowballs and best of all – someone will drive away on a brand new motorcycle in the ScooterMart raffle!
Motor racing legend Steve Plater is so flying in to lead the Scooter Mart Bermuda Charge.
“Steve is a road racing legend, a superbike champion who has won all the big races and he’d love to see a road race come to life in Bermuda next year! You can meet him the Scooter Mart tent.”
The event takes place from noon to 6pm on Sunday, September 1. The ride-out will loop from Clearwater to Hamilton, stop for a drink break, then head back on South Shore with another quick drink stop in St George.
